I hate when people are moaning about this diet and making it seem so negative. My cousin had life threatening seizures at 11 months old for 5 months 5 times a day he was so sick in and out of hospital weekly. he went on the Keto diet and his seizures stopped, he’s been seizure free for over a year! This diet was amazing for him and so many others. This video really puts of a lot of people, you did not spread out or explain any positive aspects of the diet because you clearly don’t know enough about it. don’t post things until your going to include knowledgeable information about the diet as a whole. You can live a life on a Keto diet I know a lot of people that are and are the healthiest they could be in their lives. Don’t call it stupid because it’s not it’s life saving/changing for alot of people around the world including my cousin. Speak to a a medical profession if people want to argue my point but the medical professions my whole family have been involved with throughout this time period will all tell you the same thing. (Also yes Ketosis take about 3 days to start but for you to even start seeing any results in terms of weight loss it takes at least a week. In addition, spreading your opinion after a such a short time period is ridiculous, you will feel crappy for the first period your body’s having get used to a completely knew nutritional routine it takes time.) there’s the facts so tell me again what was the point of this misleading uneducated video?!?!

I actually had this diet for over a year, yes I lost a shit of weight and I felt amazing for the first half of the year but then it all changed. I simply had no energy, I was constantly having problems with my stomach (even to the point that I got a gastritis), constant dizziness and huge drops of my blood sugar while being active were just some of my problems. Nothing seemed to help, the doctors couldn't find anything, I tried to eat more fat and less fat but it all stayed the same. So I decided to just stop and started eating "normal". Slowly but surely it got better. Unfortunalety, I seem to have kept the fast dropping blood sugar but other than that I didn't gain a lot of weight (roughly 8 pounds over christmas), I have a lot more energy, very seldom stomach pains and I just feel a lot better in general. So my point is, that this diet might be good for some people, but even if done correctly not every body can live with it.

probably should have gone at least a few more weeks. week 1 always will kick your butt. cravings will go way almost entirely if you continued. all your symptoms would disappear. why it feels so horrible is because your body is being forced to switch fuel sources. also would have helped if you were eating enough and hitting your macros (or around).

Thoughts as a keto person watching this video: 1- You clearly did ZERO research before diving into this. You have no idea what to eat/how much to eat.. 2 - You didn’t eat enough fat AT ALL which is why your starving. Okay let’s clear somethings up. Gabby is not a medical professional or an expert on this diet whatsoever. I have been on the Ketogenic diet for a year and a half and the first 4 months I dropped 82 pounds. I absolutely love keto. I feel more energized, happier, and it decreased anxiety. Keto is not 0 carbs a day, it’s between 20 - 50 net carbs to stay in ketosis. It’s high protein and high fat. Once you’re in ketosis, your body uses ketones as your fuel, which is very effective because you burn fat & are not running on carbs. I’m living proof that it works and is a long term diet. Not for everyone of course, but you can’t generalize this diet and discredit something you know barely anything about.

I went to an endocrinologist recently and I struggle with weight and I'm pre-diabetic and was considering trying the keto diet. When I brought it up and asked what he thought, he basically said the same thing Gabbie did at the end of the video. He said I would be miserable and that it might work for a bit but eventually, after I stopped the diet, I would just gain all the weight back anyway. So to those of you who are saying she didn't try hard enough or she's misleading people, maybe you should consider that it's not the same for everyone.

When I think keto I think unprocessed. I feel like this is video is what happens when you are restricting your diet and not thinking of allllllll the foods in the world that are high in protein, low in sugar and UNPROCESSED. This does not mean you eat just bacon and cheese burgers. It means that you make your food, understand what you’re putting in your body, and fuel it accordingly. When done right, keto is not about restricting yourself but about thinking of food as fuel. The big issue here is to not demonize food. If you have destructive food rules- any diet is in healthy. Too much fat is bad. Too much sugar is bad. The important thing is to feel good, eat when you’re hungry and remember it’s just food. I wish you’d had more guidance and support on this keto adventure. Could’ve been a much healthier, happier end to this video.

Imma sum up this diet real quick lol. I took a nutrition class and the Keto diet is bad-as you’ve seen-because your body starts breaks down the resources in ur body to make up for carbs. You need what like 45-65% of daily calories to be carbs. (U need 12-20% for protein and 20-35% for fats btw) Carbohydrates serve a function, otherwise the body breakdown ur fats sure, but also ur proteins in muscle and elsewhere. The diet forces ur body to digest itself basically which is why people may get sick. The diet works tho, just not good for u

I love you Gabbie but this is hard to watch. My entire family has been on the keto diet for months and they have all lost 50 pounds. And weightloss is only a side effect. The keto diet is amazing. Keto flu can only happen in the first few weeks and then your body shifts into ketosis which is the whole point of the keto diet. I am NOT an expert, I do NOT claim to be one. But I know enough about it from observing people I know around me. My stepdad even reccomended it to people at work and they are looking AMAZING and they feel AMAZING. What happens when you are doing the keto diet PROPERLY; Clearer head Healthier organs Less painful periods Weight loss Gaining energy Craving healthy foods instead of junk food I know there is more things but that's just what happened to my family. The keto diet is not something you can try for ONE WEEK, Gabbie! You have just scared off millions of people from trying it when it's honestly life saving. People who insult the ketogenic diet really insult me personally because I cannot describe how happy I am to see how happy and healthy my family is. I love you Gabbie, this is not a hate comment, just please do more research before telling millions of people that they should not try something. Not all diets work for everyone, so don't feel discouraged after this video!! After consideration and a bit of skepticism, I recently started keto a week ago and lost 7 pounds. I experienced not a single side effect. This diet shouldn't be seen as restrictive as you can look up anything ketofied, for example, I made keto brownies the other day. Plus, our nomad ancestors followed a similar diet because there was once no such thing as added sugar, just veggies and berries. I also feel great now that I removed carbs since I was addicted. I feel like Gabby bashing keto was not necessary since everyone is different. Plus she had great results with her healthy carb diet, so of course she would feel bias. I would recommend at least giving this diet a try before taking her word definitively :)

Hi! I was wondering if you could the same diet with the exception that you eat fruits and greens but not potatoes, rice, pasta ect. My friend told me that it was more of a lifestyle for her because it gave her energy and she didn't crave sugar because of the glucose from the veggies and the fruits. Also, the fat is natural fats and veggie oils (fatty fish or chicken is fine too but I don't think fatty red meats is good, not sure tho)! I want to change my "diet" but at the same time, I don't know if I should be doing this big of a change... THANK YOU (and hopefully u won't get the same pains...)

I’ve been on keto for almost 2 weeks and I still have a stomach ache every morning and night before I go to bed and it’s the worst!!! a week is not enough time to truly have an opinion on this diet, I believe your sugar cravings and hunger would have subsided after some time and if there had been some research prior about the keto flu you could have raised your salt intake to combat the keto flu. I'm on the keto diet and it's actually amazing.. It takes more than a week for your body to come into ketosis and start burning fat, so you should do this for a month and you would definitely see differences in you stomach and thighs, maybe your arms too.. it's different from person to person... I cant understand how people can do this diet. It seems so unhealthy! Carbs are so good for you, and if you have to take multivitamins in order to stay healthy, it's not a good diet.
